Isometric World Machine
A downloadable game for Windows
ISOMETRIC WORLD MACHINE
Generate a world. Reshape it. Enter it.
Isometric World Machine is an experimental world-building sandbox for creating, editing, saving, and exploring procedural isometric landscapes.
Generate a new environment, reshape it through the editor, populate it with natural objects, and then switch into Player Mode to experience the world from inside your creation.
The current Windows build packages its required runtime and uses a native 64-bit launcher.
Build procedural worlds
Create new isometric environments with varying:
- Terrain elevation
- Water placement
- Ground patterns
- Environmental objects
- Vegetation
- Biome characteristics
- Wildlife and hostile inhabitants
Each generated world can become a starting point rather than a finished result.
Edit the environment
Switch into Editor Mode to modify the generated world.
Use the available tools to:
- Change terrain
- Place and remove objects
- Adjust parts of the environment
- Experiment with different biome content
- Save the result for later
- Reload an existing creation
The editor and world simulation are part of the same application, so you can move between creating and experiencing the world without exporting it into a separate game.
Enter Player Mode
After building a world, switch into Player Mode and move through it as an inhabitant.
Explore the terrain you generated, inspect the placement of environmental features, and see how the world reads from a playable perspective rather than only from the editor.
Customize biome artwork
Isometric World Machine includes a small fallback asset set for environmental objects.
Custom biome replacements can be added through the game’s user-data location without modifying the installed application. This allows you to replace supported plants, rocks, reeds, flowers, grass, and other world objects with your own compatible artwork.
Custom files, saves, and settings are kept separate from the installed game so updates do not overwrite your work.

What kind of game is this?
Isometric World Machine currently sits between:
- A procedural world generator

- An isometric exploration sandbox
- An experimental game-development tool
It is not yet a full campaign or survival game.
The focus of this version is giving players a compact machine for generating worlds, changing them, saving them, and stepping inside them.
Development status
Isometric World Machine is in active development.
This release is an early public candidate. Some systems are experimental, and future updates may improve:
- World-generation variety
- Editor clarity
- Player interaction
- Biome identity
- Creature behavior
- World simulation
- Performance
- Custom asset support
Bug reports and examples of generated worlds are welcome.
